JEDDAH, July 2 (KUNA) -- The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has expressed its readiness to help reach a lasting solution to the existing problems for all Muslims in Myanmar, emphasizing the legitimacy of their access to basic rights from this country.
The organization announced in a statement that its Secretary-General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu sent late last week his Special Envoy, Director of minorities in the organization, Talal Daaus, to deliver a written message to the President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar from the kings and heads of 57 member states of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation.
The Secretary-General said the OIC is fully prepared to provide urgent humanitarian aid as long as the OIC gets the green light from the Myanmar government to carry out its mission in the country.
