Authorities in Arakan State have taken legal action against 5 Muslims from Nagara Pauk Taw refugee camp. According to a local residence, who contacted Myanmar Muslims Media on 19thDecember to inform that they have been accused for attacking a Rakhine. Minpya court has accepted the complaint.
According to a refugee who said, “A police officer called, Soe Naing from Minpya police station came to the camp and informed that the court has ordered to present these 5 persons in front of judge on January. A Rakhine from Pan Myaung village has complained that they have attacked him with catapult from refugee camp.”
The Rakhine, who complained to the authority for the attack, is from in Pan Myaung village which located 10miles far from the Nagara Pauk Taw refugee camp. He complained that these five peoples from the refugee camp attacked him about7pm on 4th October and authority accepted the complaint without any witness and prove.
The persons who have been accused are 1. Maung Kyaw @ Nazi Mullah, 2. Maung Maung @ Usman, 3. Maung Pyu @ Mahmod Tharmin, 4. Abdul Rahim and 5. Hashim.
Maung Kyaw @ Nazi Mullah said to Myanmar Muslim Media, “On 4th October about 7pm I was with the Major Yin Aung Phyo from Battalion 373 along with other villages authorities accompanying for the patrolling the area.
Religious persecution on Muslims in Arakan state is increasing significantly. The authority has not conducted any effective inquiry or tooks any tough action against on  3rd June 2012 Taung Gouk massacre of 10 Muslim pilgrims and on 30th September beheading 4 Rohingyas from block No.3 Pauk Taw Township. However there are overwhelm of proves and witnesses, the authorities still reluctant to take any serious step against Rakhine extremist. It raises serious doubt on Burmese government’s sincerity while they have assured internationall community to treat Muslims fairly and without bias on religious differences. There are several witnesses and proves the involement of authority in recent massacre on Muslims in Arakan state, Burma.
